Lebenslauf
Verena Tiefenbeck studierte von 2003 bis 2009 Maschinenbau und Management an der TU München und an der Ecole Centrale Paris (TIME Doppeldiplomprogramm). Anschließend verbrachte sie 3,5 Jahre in Boston als Gastdoktorandin am MIT und als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Fraunhofer Center for Sustainable Energy Systems. 2014 schloss sie ihre Doktorarbeit zu digitalen Verhaltensinterventionen an der ETH Zürich ab und übernahm dort die Leitung des Bits to Energy Labs Zürich. Parallel dazu forschte sie als Postdoktorandin am Institut für Angewandte Mikroökonomik der Universität Bonn. Seit 2019 ist sie Tenure-Track-Professorin für Digitale Transformation an der FAU. Zusätzlich konnte sie eine vom Bayerischen Staatsministerium für Wissenschaft und Kunst für 5 Jahre geförderte Nachwuchsforschungsgruppe einwerben.
Verena Tiefenbecks Forschungsschwerpunkt ist die Digitalisierung an der Schnittstelle zwischen Unternehmen und Konsumenten. Im Fokus stehen hochaufgelöste Verhaltensdaten, welche durch die Digitalisierung in der Arbeitswelt wie auch im privaten Umfeld zunehmend verfügbar werden, mit einem Schwerpunkt auf Anwendungen in den Bereichen Energie, Mobilität, Nachhaltigkeit und Gesundheit.
